Full Semester

9:00 AM // VERITAS WORKSHOP: Tell Her Story (Begins Jan 7)

Discerning and comprehending truth requires effort and at times can be difficult to navigate on your own. Our Veritas Workshop is an on-going group in which all of the participants join together in the diligent and rewarding work of identifying and understanding truth. Topics and studies vary throughout the year and the group is offered for both in-person and online. Participants are free to join at any point.

This semester we will be reading and discussing Tell Her Story: How Women Led, Taught, and Ministered in the Early Church by Nijay Gupta. "When we understand Judge Deborah leading the Israelites, the world in which Jesus and his followers lived, and what the New Testament actually attests about women in the churches, we see that women were active participants and trusted leaders all along. They were welcomed by Paul and other apostles, were equipped for ministry leadership, instructed others, traveled long distances, were imprisoned — and once in a while became heroes and giants. " (Description adapted from the book's promotion.) Please purchase your own copy of the book ahead of the class.

9:00 AM // Room 14

9:00 AM // A Study in parables (Jan 28-May 19)

Join us as we dig into the Gospels and sample a cross section of Jesus’ parables.  Discussion will focus on what a parable is and is not and what we can learn from Jesus' unique teaching style.  What do these stories tell us about God and His Kingdom and what do they tell us about ourselves?  Come prepared to share your insights as the format is open discussion!

9:00 AM // Room 16

Session 1

9:00 AM // Evangelism is Relationships (Jan 28-Feb 25)

God wants to use YOU to make a difference for Him in your world. But where do you start? You start right where you are. Evangelism is relationships! This is a training experience to equip you and your friends to live a Jesus-like way of life with your friends who don't yet have a relationship with Him. You will learn to live a biblical process for impacting your world like Jesus and be encouraged as you join God in his love for your friends.

9:00 AM // Room 13

Facilitated by Kyle Hellevang & Ann Olson

Session 2

9:00 AM // Compassion & Conviction (March 3-April 14)

"Have you ever felt too progressive for conservatives, but too conservative for progressives? Too often, political questions are framed in impossible ways for the faithful Christian: we’re forced to choose between social justice and biblical values. As a result, it’s easy for Christians to grow disillusioned with civic engagement or fall back into tribal extremes. This state of affairs has damaged Christian public witness and divided the church.

The authors of this book represent the AND Campaign, which exists to educate and organize Christians for faithful civic and cultural engagement. They insist that not only are we called to love our neighbors through the political process but also that doing so requires us to transcend the binary way the debates are usually framed. In simple, understandable language, they lay out the biblical case for political engagement and help Christians navigate the complex world of politics with integrity, from political messaging and the politics of race to protests, advocacy, and more.

When we understand our civic engagement as a way to obey Christ’s call to love our neighbor, we see that it is possible to engage the political process with both love and truth―compassion and conviction."

Books will be provided the first day of class.

9:00 AM // Room 13

Facilitated by Mark Strand & Nikki Dunham

10:30 AM // Apologetics for ambassadors (April 7-May 12)

Join us as we explore five major points of the Bible's "plot line". A good understanding of this helps the many puzzle pieces of Scripture's contents coherently fit together. We will then examine what it means to be effective ambassadors for Christ in our daily interactions. This group will have video-based teaching from Stand to Reason with open discussion.

10:30 AM // Room 14
